What does this tool do?
Break a URL into its protocol, credentials presence, hostname, path, ordered query parameters and fragment without visiting it. Inputs: URL. Outputs: Scheme/protocol, Username, Password presence, Hostname, Port, Pathname, Query parameters, Fragment.
How to use it?
Enter url, then choose “Parse”. Copy copies the displayed result or the labeled example/decoded value. Clear removes inputs and results and restores initial options.
Processing is local. Entered URLs are data: they are not visited, uploaded, logged or placed in the route. Generated markup is inert text. Reference lookups use bundled data, and previews are illustrative rather than guaranteed platform output.
Uses the WHATWG URL standard. Hierarchical HTTP, HTTPS, FTP, WS, WSS and file URLs are supported; opaque/custom schemes are rejected. Default ports and dot segments normalize; raw encoded components refer to the parsed URL.
